CHUCK NORRIS JEANS

They won't bind your legs!

As seen on TV?

Where can I get the shoes too?

Is that Century Martial Arts Logo really what you want to go with?

CELEBRATING 111 YEARS...

When Japanese Officials arrived at the home of Tokyo's oldest citizen, Sogen Kato, to celebrate his 111th birthday, they found the man had actually been dead for 30 years. The mans family had been living with his mummified corpse and benefitting from his widower's pension payments.

SCHWEDDY BALLS - S.N.L. WITH ALEC BALDWIN

A timeless festive piece of TV. Imagine if you really heard this in your car on NPR while driving. What a hoot. Funny that whenever SNL is hosted by Alec Baldwin there are never any free "stand by" seats. All ticket holders show up knowing it will be a great show. The writers like when he is there (and Chris Walken, Tom Hanks) since they know they can write just about anything and the host will go for it. They get to be particularly irreverent. Works for me :-)

Metrodome collapse Dec 12

This looks almost unreal, and also very similar to our old "BC Place" in Vancouver.

DOUGLAS ADAMS AT TED...

Douglas Adams (the hitchhikers guide through the Galaxy), had such a great way with words. In this at one point he says
"... we spent night after night trapsing through the forest in what can only be described as rain..."
and
".... we boarded vessels that decreased in excellence..."

Leslie Nielsen...

How sad to hear of the passing of great Canadian Actor Leslie Nielsen. I hear he was such a friendly fellow as well. Just don't call him Shirley.

DOES THIS DOG LOOK GUILTY?

My girlfriend's dog did a wonderful job on shredding a carpet in my house. It almost looks like she is "back peddling" out of the shot saying... "That wasnt me... seriously... I dont know how that happened there... did you talk to the cat?"

Holy Cow... These really are close calls...

Some people really did get lucky in these bits of footage. The one fellow in the desert is impossibly lucky as the car virtually danced around him as he stood almost still. Crazy.

GRUMPY TREKKER!

This is one of my more famous clips from "Trekking in Tibet." This fellow from Newcastle is less than thrilled with his trekking experience in Tiger Leaping Gorge.

You can see this show live in Vancouver on Oct 21, 2010 and Courtenay Nov 6, 2010.

SALT IS BAD FOR YOU...

Saw the film "SALT" yesterday and wonder if there was payola involved with any critics who gave it a good review. I am all for popcorn fun films, but that had so many rediculous plot holes in it that it became downright annoying. Just a mess. Hard to enjoy while having to ask so many questions...
- one simple one is: why did she take the military disguise off to be in a building where everyone was looking for her?
and a sillier one...
- when did she have time to cut her black hair short?

Skip it and see Inception for a second time.

PHOTOSHOP DISASTER... OUCH

Well you might not spot it at first glance, but if you have a closer look you will note that the entire stomach area of this ad (supposedly from Victoria's Secret Catalogue) has been complelely replaced. The skin type does not match and more amusingly the vertical line going up from her belly button is completely misaligned and looks downright scary if you think about it... unless models with severe scoliosis are the rage now.

RADIOACTIVE SUPER CAT

Just found out my cat has hyperthyroid issue. Radiation therapy = $1200! I hope she gets super powers at least - a flying cat would be really cool!

AWFUL MOVIE WARNING...

Saw Clash of the Titans last night with the big name cast (Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes, Sam Worthington, Mads Mikkelsen) and it was just wildly disappointing. I was a big fan of the original as a kid and wanted to try and relive that, but this simply was storyless and basically not very interesting or entertaining. Ouch... I can never get those two hours back.

Ray Harryhausen's original effects done back in the 80's were actually more entertaining than the big budget CGI work in this film. Just visual mayhem.

Save your money and time :-)

SHAVING BEHIND THE WHEEL...

a 37 year old woman was charged in florida with reckless driving after causing an accident while shaving her genitals while driving. Oh course she is a bit crazy... she do it on the bus instead of behind the wheel!

GREAT YUKON OPPORTUNITY MISSED!

Bummer to have missed this... and could have easily gone too since my media pass would have made that possible. What a great (missed) opportunity!

February 20, 2010 – one day exclusive media tour to Yukon territory.

You’re invited to experience Yukon on a one-day all expenses paid trip that will leave you wanting more. Fly to Whitehorse in the morning (all expenses paid) and we’ll have you back in Vancouver later that night. Take your pick from a host of activities including; dog mushing, snowshoeing, ice-fishing, ice- climbing, snowmobiling, museum tours, art gallery tours, wildlife viewing, Canada Games sport venue tours, the Yukon Quest 1,000 mile sled dog race and a host of other restaurants and Yukon culture!

... and I missed it! BUT it would have been challenging to return at 12:15 am, get out of the airport at 1 am, home at 2 am, repack for the train, then be at the train station for 4:30 am for the Whistler media trip! Exhausting (but exhilarating)!

FUN WITH A MAGNIFYING GLASS...

Funny how much you can make yourself look like Homer Simpson...

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU FORGET YOUR CAMERA AT A THEATRE...

I forgot my camera at the Hollywood theatre that my friend Vince operates. It is not as bad as it sounds since this was a special late night show with friends only, so the camera was safe. HOWEVER they got ahold of it and made some art? And a cool hat too!
